After being educated as wood technician HTR, 3 years of foreign experiences and a previous position as business manager to the restructuring of a large sawmill in the Black Forest, Ruthard Männle has build up his own business since 1988. After some years of experiences in the frame laminating sector, as well as consultation and support of sawmills, he intensively turned his attention to Douglas fir in 1992.

Today we process about 12,000m³ of Douglas fir logs to high quality lumber. In the process of such an additional 10,000 m³ of logs are sold to other sawmills. Our suppliers are from Basle to Kassel and the Vosges mountain range to Bavaria.

Here we purchase selected Douglas fir strong timber, especially bottom logs up to 15m. They will be sawn, in three sawmills into high quality square edged lumber. For example: vertical grain up to 150mm, crosscut beams up to 250 x 250mm, extreme construction wood up to 450 x 450mm and 12m long as well as boules from 30 to 75mm. The choice of length is depending on the final product; we are very flexible in this question.

Additionally we process Acacia and Sweet Chestnut for garden and landscaping purposes, playground sets and fences. Another specialty of us is the beautiful Weymouth Pine and selected Oak boules.

In our own production facilities in Mahlberg-Orschweier (77972), directly by the A5 near Freiburg, we operate two drying chambers with capacities of 130m³ and max lengths of 9m. With our planning mill we can shape S4S or profiling up to 160 x 220 mm. For example, check out our wall panelling or our high quality decking boards.
